Out of the many news that were shown on the TED speech, I found the miracle on Hudson the most interesting. The interesting part about this story is that so many lives were saved after a plane striking a flock of geese and losing its engine power. The pilot decision and skills to ditch the plane into the Hudson River of Manhattan. I was mostly amazed at this story with the pilot's calm judgement under such an extreme situation and as a result, saved more than 150 lives.
In the future, I hope to be able to get a job that I can be proud of. I think that this pilot would have been extremely proud of himself after this incident. I'm not sure what I can become, but I will try hard for a bright future.
Ken, even though it was a great piece of flying by the pilot and a dramatic incident, I think the speaker's point was that there are many more interesting stories than this that are overlooked because people are being fed on a diet of "light news". Thankfully, nowadays the Internet allows us all to explore and find information that we feel is valuable.
